Attorney Biographies

Cynthia Freeman, a native of Gainesville, Texas, and raised in Houston, boasts a diverse professional journey. After graduating with a BA in English from the University of Texas at Austin in 1982, Ms. Freeman initially worked as a secretary and legal assistant in Austin. Following her return to Houston for law school, she earned honors from the University of Houston Law Center in December 1993.

Embarking on her legal career as a solo practitioner, Ms. Freeman dedicated six years to handling plaintiffs’ personal injury, employment law, and family law cases. During this time, she successfully tried cases in both state and bankruptcy courts. Taking a hiatus from the legal arena, she transitioned into education, serving as a middle school teacher with the Houston Independent School District, allowing for increased time with her daughter. In 2003, she re-entered the legal field, joining Scott, Clawater & Houston as an Associate.

Ms. Freeman’s current practice centers on administrative board complaints and civil litigation, particularly in professional negligence defense. Licensed to practice in the State of Texas and the U.S. Southern District of Texas, she is an esteemed member of the State Bar of Texas and the Houston Bar Association.

Beyond her legal endeavors, Ms. Freeman actively engages with the Houston community. Her volunteer efforts extend to the Houston Independent School District, the Houston-area Girl Scouts, and her service on the Bellaire Parks & Recreation Board. This multifaceted professional is committed to both legal excellence and community involvement.
